Solitaire and tic-tac-toe can now be played via a Google search

Mobile app stores offer more downloadable games than anyone could ever hope to play. But if you want to pass the time without squandering precious storage space, a simple Google Search will do the trick.

Google has built Solitaire and Tic-Tac-Toe straight into Google search.
Type "solitaire" or "tic-tac-toe" into the mobile app or website to test your patience with two of the oldest and most popular games.

Solitaire is the most popular of the two games, with about 2.7M searches every month and has more sites competing in the search results. Tic Tac Toe has 165,000 monthly searches, which is still very decent.

Tic-Tac-Toe plays exactly as you would expect, while Solitaire offers an easy mode, in which you can cycle through the pile one card at a time, and a hard mode, which shows the standard three cards at a time. Both games work in Google search on mobile as well as the desktop, and I would argue it's the best Solitaire app on a phone.

Click "Tap to play" under the search bar, and choose easy (single-card draw and one-tap sorting) or hard (three-card draw and manual sorting). Then dive in, building four piles from Ace to King. Not every game is winnable; in fact, most games are unwinnable (at least in my experience). But the digital cards are cute, and the game is quick.

For some other fun tips, try asking Google 'what sound does a pig make?'Or if you're looking to settle a bet and feeling lucky, 'flip a coin' may come in handy.
